Santa Helps Teach Geography

Santa, show me the world!!
Submitted by ~ Kaprice Dal Cerro ~ Footprints of the Mind Program Director ~ Wander Our World Class Instructor

It is that time of year again when children all over the world are excited and anxiously awaiting the arrival of Santa. It got me thinking how Santa also teaches geography to our children, (and parents too) each year. Many families I know like to track Santa's progress to see which country he is in and  how close he is to their own location.

If you are not familiar with the Santa tracker here is a link to the one we use in our household http://www.noradsanta.org/en/  As I write this blog the time keeps ticking away until Santa's arrival, and we are approximately 2 days, 11 hours, and 27 minutes until he takes flight! VERY EXCITING!!

Here is a fun game you can play with your children (and even adults). I challenge you to watch Santa as he travels the world and see if you can identify the continents, countries, and cities he is visiting and see how many you as parents get correct and how many your children can identify. Did you learn about new places?  I would love for you to share you answers on this post.

All of us at Footprints of the Mind wish you a VERY HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!

We look forward to hearing about your holiday travels and your successes tracking Santa.

Happy Holidays,
Kaprice
